The Portable VLC player can play DVDs, VCDs, and audio and video formats and codecs such as FLV, AVI, OGG, DivX, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MP3, WAV and many other streaming protocols.
It is open source software. It can be downloaded for free from here.
